Join us for a relaxed pottery session and create your own large ceramic vase using 2 kg of clay.
This workshop takes place over 2 sessions and is perfect for anyone who wants to learn how to build beautiful, functional ceramic pieces by hand.
During the first session, you’ll learn the fundamentals of coil building and shape your vase step by step with guidance from our experienced ceramic artists. Creating taller ceramic forms can be tricky, especially when it comes to stability, balance, and clean construction. We’ll show you the techniques that help your vase hold its shape beautifully while still feeling organic and handmade.
At the end of the workshop, you’ll receive a voucher for our glazing workshop. Once your vase has been bisque fired (minimum 2 weeks later), you can book your second session whenever it suits you and glaze your piece in your own style.
After glazing, we’ll take care of the final firing so your vase becomes fully functional and waterproof — ready for flowers, branches, or simply as a sculptural piece at home.

After you have finished working on your piece, we will provide the right conditions for your piece to dry properly - after a day or two we will turn it upside down and write your initials on it. Depending on the thickness of your creation, it will take 3-10 days to dry completely. Once it is dry, we fire it at 960 degrees Celsius - it takes about 28 hours to reach the right temperature and cool down.
Option 1 - After the first 'raw' firing, we dip your piece in transparent glaze and place it in the kiln again - this time to fire at 1220 degrees Celsius. After another 36 hours, your piece is beautiful, shiny, very durable and fully functional. You can now use it every day, put it in the dishwasher and be proud of yourself :)
Option 2 - After the first 'raw' firing you will return to glaze your piece during our glazing workshop. It will take around 2,5 hours to complete your pieces with 2-3 coats of glaze. After that we will put your vase in the kiln again, this time to fire at 1220 degrees Celsius. After another 36 hours, your piece is beautiful, shiny, very durable and fully functional.
In the case of a rescheduling or cancellation, you will find the corresponding instructions under the first question “How can I reschedule my course?”
Important: Rescheduling requests via email, phone or in person cannot be accepted and are therefore invalid.
On the one hand, there is wheel throwing, where pieces are created on the electric pottery wheel. The resulting objects are characteristically round, symmetrical and thin. On the other hand, there is modeling and shaping clay by hand at the worktable. This includes coiling, pinch technique and slab technique. Here you are not bound to the round base shape created by the wheel and can freely express your creativity.
However, shorter nails – and for pottery wheel courses also a hair tie for longer hair as well as clothes that may get a little dirty – are an advantage. If despite the aprons some clay or glaze gets onto your clothing, don’t worry, both can be easily washed out.
We keep already glazed course pieces in our pickup shelves for 3 months. After that, due to space limitations, they are sorted into monthly boxes where we can no longer guarantee completeness or condition. Every year before Christmas, we donate all remaining pieces that have been with us for more than one year to “Aktion Leben” to bring joy to someone else. :)

An additional packaging & service fee of €9.50 applies per package, as we wrap each piece by hand and personally drop it off at the post office to ensure it arrives safely :)
Medium-sized pieces such as cups, bowls, plates, small vases. Large pieces such as vases, jugs, etc. are calculated as 2 medium-sized pieces.
