We are happy to invite all those who enjoy hand modeling in good company to visit us on Tuesdays, in our studio in Neubau, where we will teach you how to build beautiful clay vases for your home! You will learn the proper technique that is required in order to build strong, tall and sturdy vases that will stay with you for years to come.
In addition to stoneware clay we will also provide necessary tools and, of course, our close guidance – to make your vision come to life and model the clay into a beautiful artistic vase!
+ What you will do
In this 2,5-hour workshop, you will create your own ceramic vase, under the guidance of our experienced ceramists. We will learn the most useful techniques of ‘coil building’ for making fully functional and beautiful ceramic vases.
This course includes your finished masterpiece, which we fire for you at 960° C and then professionally glaze with transparent glaze (and then fire again at 1220° C) so that it can be picked up about 2-3 weeks later. Of course, it’s functional – the beauty of your flowers will be emphasized in a magnificent vase from your own creation.
Alternatively, you can return to glaze your vase yourself using our beautiful glazes. After we fire your vase at 960° C you will comeback for a glazing workshop. Under the guidance of our great instructor you will get an access to our rich palette of professional, high temperature stoneware glazes. Glaze application will allow you to achieve incredible result turning your vase into a truly unique masterpiece.
Group Booking
If you would like to sit together with others, please make your reservation under a single booking. This allows us to seat you at the same table. With multiple separate reservations, we unfortunately cannot guarantee that you will be seated together. Please note that cancellation and rescheduling policies may vary.

This course is ideal for ALL ceramic beginners (no experience necessary!) but is also suitable for those who have experience with clay, and want to deepen their knowledge in hand building modeling.

After you have finished working on your piece, we will provide the right conditions for your piece to dry properly - after a day or two we will turn it upside down and write your initials on it. Depending on the thickness of your creation, it will take 3-10 days to dry completely. Once it is dry, we fire it at 960 degrees Celsius - it takes about 28 hours to reach the right temperature and cool down.
Option 1 - After the first 'raw' firing, we dip your piece in transparent glaze and place it in the kiln again - this time to fire at 1220 degrees Celsius. After another 36 hours, your piece is beautiful, shiny, very durable and fully functional. You can now use it every day, put it in the dishwasher and be proud of yourself :)
Option 2 - After the first 'raw' firing you will return to glaze your piece during our glazing workshop. It will take around 2,5 hours to complete your pieces with 2-3 coats of glaze. After that we will put your vase in the kiln again, this time to fire at 1220 degrees Celsius. After another 36 hours, your piece is beautiful, shiny, very durable and fully functional.
In the case of a rescheduling or cancellation, you will find the corresponding instructions under the first question “How can I reschedule my course?”
Important: Rescheduling requests via email, phone or in person cannot be accepted and are therefore invalid.
On the one hand, there is wheel throwing, where pieces are created on the electric pottery wheel. The resulting objects are characteristically round, symmetrical and thin. On the other hand, there is modeling and shaping clay by hand at the worktable. This includes coiling, pinch technique and slab technique. Here you are not bound to the round base shape created by the wheel and can freely express your creativity.
However, shorter nails – and for pottery wheel courses also a hair tie for longer hair as well as clothes that may get a little dirty – are an advantage. If despite the aprons some clay or glaze gets onto your clothing, don’t worry, both can be easily washed out.
We keep already glazed course pieces in our pickup shelves for 3 months. After that, due to space limitations, they are sorted into monthly boxes where we can no longer guarantee completeness or condition. Every year before Christmas, we donate all remaining pieces that have been with us for more than one year to “Aktion Leben” to bring joy to someone else. :)

An additional packaging & service fee of €9.50 applies per package, as we wrap each piece by hand and personally drop it off at the post office to ensure it arrives safely :)
Medium-sized pieces such as cups, bowls, plates, small vases. Large pieces such as vases, jugs, etc. are calculated as 2 medium-sized pieces.
Bookings for 1-4 people:
Refund/Cancellation: Possible within 24 hours after booking
Rescheduling: possible once up to 24 hours before the appointment
Bookings for 5–9 people:
Refund / Cancellation: Possible within 24 hours after the booking.
Rescheduling: Possible once up to 7 days before the (first) course day.
Bookings for 10+ people:
Refund / Cancellation: Possible within 24 hours after the booking.
Rescheduling: Possible once up to 14 days before the (first) course day.
You can adjust your booking independently through the rescheduling/cancellation button in your confirmation mail. Cancellation or rescheduling requests cannot be accepted via email, SMS/WhatsApp, or phone.
