Would you like to dive into the colorful world of ceramics together, explore your creativity, and create something truly unique? Then you’ve come to the right place! At Fresh Ceramics, a special experience full of color, imagination, and hands-on creativity awaits you – the perfect outing for your next school trip. This offer is intended for school classes and hort groups of children up to the age of 14.

What to expect
Each child can choose a ceramic piece from our Category E collection and decorate it individually during a two-hour session.
The exclusive price for school groups is €23.90 per child (regular price €29.90).

This price includes:
– one Category E ceramic piece
– two hours of studio time
– all tools and materials
– unlimited use of our paints
– glazing and firing of the finished pieces
– After a short introduction to the colors and painting techniques, the children can begin working on their pieces independently.

Booking a session
School group bookings are generally available Monday to Friday between 9:00 AM and 4:00 PM – including during school holidays.
Teachers or group supervisors can send a short request via email to hello@freshceramics.at. Together, we’ll coordinate a suitable date and go over all the details.

Please let us know your preferred date, the number of students attending, and how many adults will accompany the group.
Our Neubau studio can host up to 40 children, and our Hietzing location up to 30.

How it works
Each session lasts two hours. After painting, we will glaze and fire the pieces at 1040°C. About one week later, the finished works can be picked up at the studio – sorted and labeled.

Cost
The price for school classes of 10 or more children is €23.90 per person.

+ Can this be booked for a birthday party?
This school group package is specifically designed to give children an affordable opportunity to enjoy a creative outing in an educational context. It is not available for private events such as birthday parties – thank you for your understanding.

FAQ:

Is everything included in the piece price, or are there additional costs?

For Category “E” (€ 23.90 instead of € 29.90), everything is included. We don’t have hidden extra costs.

How many adults should accompany the group?

We recommend at least one adult for 10–20 children and at least two adults for more than 20 children.

How is the payment handled?

Pieces are paid on-site at a reduced price, so no prepayment is required. We accept cash and card payments in our studios.

When can I pick up my finished pieces, and what happens if I forget?

Your pieces are ready for pickup 3 weeks after your session.
Please collect them within 2 months.
After that, we store them by month... Note: We cannot take responsibility after 3 months.
Items not picked up may be donated to “Aktion Leben”.

Can someone else pick up my piece for me?

Yes, a friend can collect your work – just show a photo of your piece.
If you attended as a group, one person can pick up everything.
Just make sure they know your names and creations.

Can you ship my pieces to me?

We ship within the EU. Not outside. Rates:
Austria (1–3 pieces): €7.17
Germany (1–3 pieces): €17.35
Other EU countries: €21.00
+ €9.50 packaging & handling fee.
*Medium-sized items like cups/bowls. Larger ones count as two.

What is the price distribution for the multi-part pottery course?

Spin&Go (69 EUR, 1 session):
• 69 EUR for 1.5 hours of pottery on the wheel.

Spin&Glaze (105 EUR, 2 sessions):
• 80 EUR for 2 hours of pottery on the wheel
• 29 EUR for the glazing workshop.

Spin, Trim & Glaze (175 EUR, 3 sessions):
• 75 EUR for 3 hours of pottery on the wheel
• 75 EUR for 3 hours of trimming on the wheel
• 29 EUR for the glazing workshop.

How do I book a course using a gift card?

Select your course, checkout, and enter your code in the “Gift Card” field.
Valid at both studio locations.

What’s the difference between pottery and hand-building classes?

Pottery: Uses an electric wheel for symmetrical pieces.
Hand-building: Clay shaping by hand – more creative and organic forms.
Choose based on what you want to make.

Can I make an extra piece?

Courses are designed for one piece. But for €12, you can have extra pieces glazed and fired.

Can I bring my own snacks or drinks to class?

Yes! You can bring your own snacks and non-alcoholic drinks.

I'm not happy with how the glaze turned out on my piece. Is it possible to reglaze it, or receive a refund or reimbursement?

We understand that glaze results can sometimes be surprising, but reglazing high-temperature fired pieces is not possible, and we do not offer reglazing or deglazing services.

Glazing in pottery is an inherently variable process and cannot be fully controlled or replicated exactly. Even when the same glaze, clay body, and firing schedule are used, the final outcome can differ from piece to piece. Many factors influence the result, including kiln placement, temperature fluctuations during firing, glaze thickness, how the glaze interacts with the clay, and the overall kiln atmosphere. These variables are a natural part of working with handmade ceramics.

Because of this unpredictability, glaze appearance is not considered a defect. For this reason, we do not offer refunds, reimbursements or remakes based on glaze results or personal preference.
