If you`ve always wanted to get your hands on clay but aren`t ready to commit to a long course, then this two-part class is just the right thing for you. In a relaxed studio setting, you’ll first learn how to throw your own ceramic pieces – small bowls, cups, vases or planters – and come back a week later to glaze them in colour.

It`s our absolute pottery bestseller – long enough to get creative, yet compact enough to easily plan with friends or family. You will get a practical overview, learn the most important basics and take your own functional ceramics home with you at the end.

What language is the course held in?

What happens if you are the only person who has booked a particular course?

If this is the case, we’ll turn your course into a private session: one hour of guided throwing with an instructor, then 1.5 hours of solo practice. A week later, you’ll join a 2-hour glazing session.

If you’re two participants, you’ll have 1.5 hours with the instructor, followed by one hour of independent work.

Who can attend, do I need previous knowledge for this course?

No experience needed – this course is perfect for beginners. Kids from age 8 can join with an accompanying adult. You can later move on to longer throwing courses for deeper learning.

How can I reschedule my course?

You can reschedule up to 24h before start via your customer account:

Note: No changes within 24h of course start.

What is the price distribution for the multi-part pottery course?

What if I can’t attend my course?

You can transfer your ticket to someone else. Otherwise:

Regular classes:
• Reschedule via account up to 24h before
• Refund within 24h after booking
• No changes within 24h before class

Painting Studio:
• Free bookings: cancel/reschedule via email link
• Paid (5+ ppl): refund up to 72h, reschedule up to 12h

Private workshops:
• Email notice: 3 months (Sep–Mar), 1 month (Apr–Aug)
• Individual spots refundable 24h in advance
• Min. group: 10

Open Studio:

When can I pick up my finished pieces, and what happens if I forget?

Pottery/hand-building: ready 3 weeks after session.
Please collect within 2 months. After 3 months, we cannot guarantee safekeeping.Before Christmas, all unclaimed items are donated to “Aktion Leben”.

Can someone else pick up my piece for me?

Yes, just make sure they show us a photo of your work.
If you came as a group, one person can collect for all—just know what was made and full names.

Can you ship my pieces to me?

Yes, within EU only.

What should I bring to class?

Just your good mood

Short nails, a hair tie, and old clothes are helpful. Aprons provided. Clay and glaze wash out easily.

Can I make an extra piece?

The course fits making two pieces. Extra pieces? Sure! We’ll fire & glaze them for €12 each.

Yes! You can bring your own snacks and non-alcoholic drinks.

I’m not happy with how the glaze turned out on my piece. Is it possible to reglaze it, or receive a refund or reimbursement?

We understand that glaze results can sometimes be surprising, but reglazing high-temperature fired pieces is not possible, and we do not offer reglazing or deglazing services.

Glazing in pottery is an inherently variable process and cannot be fully controlled or replicated exactly. Even when the same glaze, clay body, and firing schedule are used, the final outcome can differ from piece to piece. Many factors influence the result, including kiln placement, temperature fluctuations during firing, glaze thickness, how the glaze interacts with the clay, and the overall kiln atmosphere. These variables are a natural part of working with handmade ceramics.

Because of this unpredictability, glaze appearance is not considered a defect. For this reason, we do not offer refunds, reimbursements or remakes based on glaze results or personal preference.
