Booking Details

+ Registration
Registration is free, even during peak times. If you can’t make it, please cancel your appointment as early as possible using the link in your confirmation email. This way, someone else can take your spot.

+ Groups
If you’d like to sit together with friends, please make one single reservation for your whole group. That way, we can seat you all at the same table. If you make several separate free reservations, we unfortunately can’t guarantee that your group will be seated together.

For groups of 4 or more people, a reservation fee of € 32.90,- per person applies. This is a paid group booking and ensures that your table is reserved for you, even during busy times. The full amount will be credited to you on the day of your visit for your creative session.

Clay Time gives you the chance to slow down, get creative with clay, and enjoy a little time to yourself. Our step-by-step tutorials will help you create your own functional piece of art. Choose a time slot that is convenient for you – no prior experience needed, all ages welcome.

This as an opportunity designed for advanced beginners, or beginners with advanced ambitions. Clay Time allows you to create even outside of our regular classes. Work at your own pace and follow one of our step-by-step tutorials to make the piece of your dreams. Our staff members are on hand to answer questions but it will mostly be just you and the clay.

Choose your time
Reserve your spot for 2 hours — available Tuesday to Friday between 9:30 and 15:30.

Choose your project size
You decide how much clay you would like to use, depending on the piece you want to create.

Choose a design
Our guides calmly lead you through the process — from shaping to the finished object.
For example: mugs, bowls, vases, and more.

Time for you and the clay
Work at your own rhythm. Come alone or with friends and turn the studio into your own small creative retreat.

Glazing & finishing
Choose one of our curated glazes — we take care of the rest.
Your piece will be dried, fired twice, and ready for pickup after about three weeks (or shipped to you upon request).

FAQ:

Can I model individual forms?

In Clay Time, forms like cups (optional with foot), bowls, or vases are provided, as the step-by-step instructions are designed for these techniques and shapes. If you want to create other forms such as plates or figures, you can book an Open Studio slot and model independently without instructions.

Can I glaze my piece myself?

In addition to choosing from 3–5 glazes that we apply for you (included in the price), you can also glaze your piece yourself in a glazing workshop. This requires an additional appointment. Pieces can only be glazed after their first firing, which takes about two weeks.

You can purchase a voucher with a code for the glazing workshop at the end of your Clay Time visit and book your session online.

The glazing workshop offers a selection of over 45 glazes. Many glazes develop color variations during firing, making them especially suitable for larger surfaces. Small details may blur slightly, but alternative colors are available for more precise applications.

Will there be an instructor during Clay Time?

No, Clay Time does not have active instruction. You receive a written step-by-step guide. Our staff is happy to help with occasional questions. If you prefer a guided course, click here

Is Clay Time offered on weekends?

Currently, Clay Time is only available on weekdays during times with few or no courses. If you want to model on weekends, you can attend one of our ">guided modeling courses

How can I reschedule my appointment?

You can reschedule or cancel your appointment via the button “Reschedule, cancel or request a refund” in your course confirmation email. If you are unable to attend, we kindly ask you to adjust your booking as early as possible so that others have the opportunity to take your spot. Please make sure to review our rescheduling and cancellation policy for clay time bookings.

What if I cannot attend my appointment?

In the case of a possible rescheduling or cancellation, you will find the relevant instructions under the first question “How can I reschedule my appointment?”
Important: Rescheduling requests via email, phone or in person cannot be accepted and are therefore invalid.

If the rescheduling and cancellation deadline (for paid bookings) has already passed, you are welcome to privately pass your spot on to friends or acquaintances, as tickets are not tied to a specific person. This allows you to give them a lovely experience and ensures that reserved spots do not remain unused if the rescheduling deadline has already passed.

Do I need prior experience to participate?

No, that is not necessary. Clay Time is suitable for both beginners and advanced participants. With written instructions, you will be guided step by step through the modelling process.

How can I book a slot?

All slots can only be booked online directly via our website. The calendar shows you on which days and how many spots are available for booking. Choose your preferred day and number of participants and click “Book Now.” This adds the booking to your cart, and in the next step you can complete the payment process.

How do I book a slot if I have a gift card?

The code can be entered during checkout for paid Clay Time bookings after adding the booking. It’s valid for both locations. If you have multiple voucher codes, you can enter and redeem them one after another.
Please note that gift cards for paid bookings can only be redeemed online, and we cannot refund you on site afterward for advance payments.
If you have made a free Clay Time booking (under 5 people) and would like to pay with a gift card, you can bring it with you and the respective item price will be deducted from your gift card on site.

What is the difference between pottery and modelling?

When working with clay, there are generally two different approaches:
On the one hand, there is wheel throwing, where pieces are created on the electric pottery wheel. The resulting objects are characteristically round, symmetrical and thin.
On the other hand, there is modelling and shaping clay by hand at the worktable. This includes the coiling technique, pinch technique and slab technique. Here you are not bound to the round base shape created by the wheel and can freely express your creativity. During Clay Time, you will be modelling.

What should I bring to the course?

A portion of good mood :) We have everything else at the studio!

However, shorter nails – as well as clothes that may get a little dirty – are an advantage. If despite the aprons some clay or glaze gets onto your clothing, don’t worry, both can be easily washed out.

When can I pick up my finished pieces & what happens if I forget them?

The ceramics from your Clay Time session will be ready for pickup after 3 weeks. If you cannot come in person, the person collecting them must be able to show a photo of your pieces.
We keep already glazed course pieces in our pickup shelves for 3 months. After that, due to space limitations, they are sorted into monthly boxes where we can no longer guarantee completeness or condition. Every year before Christmas, we donate all remaining pieces that have been with us for more than one year to “Aktion Leben” to bring joy to someone else. :)

Can I have my pieces shipped home?
We are happy to ship your masterpieces by post, no matter where you are located within the EU. Shipping outside the EU is not possible. Fees of Austrian Post:
Shipping within Austria (1–3 pieces*): €7.17
Shipping to Germany (1–3 pieces*): €17.35
Shipping within the EU (1–3 pieces*): €21.00

An additional packaging & service fee of €9.50 applies per package, as we wrap each piece by hand and personally drop it off at the post office to ensure it arrives safely :)
*Medium-sized pieces such as cups, bowls, plates, small vases. Large pieces such as vases, jugs, etc. are calculated as 2 medium-sized pieces.

Are my pieces dishwasher safe?

Your pieces are made of stoneware clay. They are fired at 1200°C, making them vitrified and both dishwasher safe and microwave safe.

I'm not happy with how the glaze turned out on my piece. Is it possible to reglaze it, or receive a refund or reimbursement?

We understand that glaze results can sometimes be surprising, but reglazing high-temperature fired pieces is not possible, and we do not offer reglazing or deglazing services.

Glazing in pottery is an inherently variable process and cannot be fully controlled or replicated exactly. Even when the same glaze, clay body, and firing schedule are used, the final outcome can differ from piece to piece. Many factors influence the result, including kiln placement, temperature fluctuations during firing, glaze thickness, how the glaze interacts with the clay, and the overall kiln atmosphere. These variables are a natural part of working with handmade ceramics.

Because of this unpredictability, glaze appearance is not considered a defect. For this reason, we do not offer refunds, reimbursements or remakes based on glaze results or personal preference.
