You can reschedule your course up to 24 hours before the course begins directly via the button “Reschedule, cancel or request a refund” in the course confirmation email.
Cancellations are possible up to 24 hours after receiving the booking confirmation via the same button.
How it works:
1. Go to the confirmation email and click the button “Reschedule, cancel or request a refund.”
2. You will now see your booking. Go to the action “Edit.”
3. In the menu that opens, select “Reschedule” or “Refund.”
4. Check the details and confirm the rescheduling/refund.
5. Refresh the page to see your updated booking.
Please note: Rescheduling and cancellations can be made once per booking only. A further change is not possible. Rescheduling and cancellations are ONLY valid via the button in the confirmation email (exception: corporate events not booked via the website). A cancellation or rescheduling via email, SMS/WhatsApp, or phone call is therefore invalid.
Since the tickets are not tied to a specific person, you are welcome to pass them on privately to friends or acquaintances. This way, you can give them a great experience and ensure that reserved spots don’t go to waste. Otherwise, our cancellation policies apply:
1. Rescheduling and cancellation of regular courses:
You can reschedule your course up to 24 hours before it begins via the button in your confirmation email. Instructions for this can be found under the first question “How can I reschedule my course?” Rescheduling requests by email, phone, or in person cannot be accepted and are therefore invalid.
Cancellation and refund of your course are possible up to 24 hours after booking. This can also be done via the button in your confirmation email. Please note: if you book within 24 hours of the course start, no refund or rescheduling is possible.
2. Rescheduling and cancellation of ceramic painting bookings:
If you booked a free slot for ceramic painting, you can cancel or reschedule your booking yourself up until the appointment. However, we kindly ask that you update your booking as early as possible via the link in your confirmation email if you cannot attend. This way, others can take the opportunity.
For paid ceramic painting bookings (5 people or more), the following conditions apply:
Full or partial refund possible up to 72 hours in advance via the button in the confirmation mail.
Rescheduling possible up to 12 hours before the session via the button in the confirmation mail.
3. Rescheduling and cancellation of private courses:
For private courses and team events, please notify us in writing by email to marketing@freshceramics.at if you wish to reschedule or cancel:
At least 3 months in advance for courses from September to March.
At least 1 month in advance for courses from April to August.
Individual course spots are refundable up to 24 hours in advance. The minimum group size for private events is 10 participants.
4. Rescheduling and cancellation of Open Studio bookings:
Full refund possible up to 72 hours in advance via the button in the confirmation mail.
Rescheduling possible up to 12 hours before the session via the button in the confirmation mail.
We kindly ask you to carefully check your booking and review your order confirmation to see which studio location you’ve booked before heading to your course. If you arrive at the wrong studio, unfortunately, rescheduling or cancellation is no longer possible, as your spot has already been reserved for you.
All courses & offers can only be booked online, directly via our website. Sometimes courses are fully booked days or weeks in advance, sometimes you can join spontaneously. The calendar below each course description shows you on which days how many spots are available for booking.
Here you can find our course schedule :)
The voucher code can be used online on our website for the desired course. You can choose one and book online. The code can then be entered at checkout when paying and is also valid for both locations.
There are basically two different approaches to working with clay:
One is pottery, in which pieces are produced on an electric wheel. The resulting objects are characteristically round, symmetrical and thin. On the other hand, there is the modeling and shaping of the clay by hand at the workbench. This includes the coil technique, the thumb technique and the slab technique. Here you are not limited to the basic round shape by a turning wheel and can give free rein to your creativity.
Depending on what you want to do, there are techniques and courses that are suitable for this. So bear this in mind when booking :)
No, that is not necessary. All our courses are also suitable for beginners.
Whether you just want to get a small insight into the world of ceramics with our one-part courses, learn pottery step by step in multi-part courses or refresh and deepen your existing knowledge in the 9-week course: there is something for everyone!
Yes, we also offer courses for children, teenagers and families!
You can find the age restrictions for the specific courses in the course descriptions. Please take note of these so that all who attend can enjoy the course to the full. Some courses are even suitable for children from the age of 3 if they are accompanied by an adult. In this case, a place must also be booked for the adult.
A portion of good humor :) We have all the rest in our studio!
However, shorter nails - and for pottery courses also a hair tie and clothes that can get a little dirty - are an advantage. If, despite the aprons, some clay or glaze gets on your clothes, don't worry, both can be easily washed out.
Your ceramics from pottery & modeling courses are ready 3 weeks after the last day of the course, painted ceramics already after 8 days.
We would be very happy if you pick up your pieces within 2 months after your first course day or ceramic painting appointment (for longer courses, such as the 3, 5 & 9 week pottery course, we keep the pieces on the shelves for 3 months after glazing). If you don't have time, you can still come back later. For space reasons, we then take your pieces off the pick-up shelf and sort them into boxes by month - then you have to look around a bit before you find your piece!
Every year before Christmas, we donate all the leftover items to "Aktion Leben". Since we started this 2 years ago, we know that there are people there who really appreciate handmade ceramics for personal use or as gifts. Your pieces would find new loving hands :)
Friends are also welcome to pick up your masterpiece for you!
If you were here as a group, for example, it is enough if one of you comes to collect it. It is only important to know what you have made and what your full names are so that you can find the pieces more easily on the shelf.
Are you just visiting Vienna or don't have time to pick up your artwork? Then we will be happy to send your masterpieces by post, no matter where you are in the EU. We don't deliver outside EU.
The fees of the Austrian Post:
- Shipping in Austria (1-3 pieces*): 7,17€
- Shipping to Germany (1-3 pieces*): 17,35€
- Shipping within the EU (1-3 pieces*): 21,00€
For each package there are additional packaging & service costs of 9.50€, as we pack each item by hand and personally deliver it to the post office so that it arrives safely :)
*middle sized pieces like cups, small plates, bowls. For bigger pieces like vases, big plates or bigger bowls we calculate them as 2 middle sized pieces.
In our courses, we exclusively use brush-on glazes. We have a large palette with a total of over 150 colors of underglazes, foundations, stroke & coat and stoneware glazes. And that's what we love about them:
The underglazes make it possible to paint directly onto the raw, unfired pieces. A unique feature that we make use of for Coffe&Clay or Clay Nights, for example, where you can decorate your pieces with beautiful patterns or carve into them after modeling.
When painting pre-cast-ceramics, the even foundations provide the perfect background for then painting cool designs using various techniques with the Stroke&Coat low-temperature glazes. There are no limits to your creativity!
And last but not least; the high-quality stoneware glazes. They can be used to achieve wonderful results. By varying layer thicknesses, application techniques and different glazes on top of each other, a wide variety of color effects can be created, making it a little adventure every time your ceramics come fresh out of the kiln!
Ceramic-painting pieces are made of earthenware clay and are fired at 1040°C. They are dishwasher-safe, but very fine micro cracks may appear in the glaze over time. The pieces are not microwaveable.
All the pieces from pottery & modeling courses and from Open Studio are made of stoneware clay. They are fired at 1200°C, are then sealed and both dishwasher-proof and microwaveable.
Yes, you can! You can either choose from our existing options or, depending on how much time you have, plan a completely customized event. You can combine different techniques, such as pottery on the wheel, modeling at the table or painting the self-made pieces with underglazes. You can also paint pre-made ceramics. Spend unforgettable hours with your friends or colleagues at an event tailored to your ideas. We look forward to designing your creative experience with you! Just send us an email with your ideas to hello@freshceramics.at :)
Yes, you are welcome to do so. However, an important requirement is that you know which materials are involved and whether they are suitable for our firing temperatures. Show us a photo of the clay packaging together with all the information about the firing temperature and type of clay as confirmation. Otherwise, we will unfortunately not be able to fire the ceramics you have brought with you for safety reasons. We have:
- biscuit firing (1st firing): 960°C
- Low glaze firing (2nd firing): 1040°C
- High firing (2nd firing): 1200°C
The firing costs for this are 11,90€ per kilo. For small pieces under 200g there is an additional service fee of 1€ for bisque firing and 3€ for glaze firing.
If damage to the burning plates or the kiln occurs due to incompatibility of the clay or glaze of your pieces, the costs of repair are to be covered by yourself.
If you are firing a lot of pieces or want a different firing temperature, you can also rent a whole kiln for your projects (120L in Neubau, 60L in Hietzing). Please contact us to discuss further details.
Yes, you can buy a selected range of clay, pottery supplies and stoneware glazes from us. We offer high quality materials and tools that are perfect for beginners and experienced potters. We look forward to helping you choose the right supplies, so you can bring your creative projects to life.
Would you like to give a gift to someone or treat yourself? Then, in addition to our gift cards and pottery accessories, we also have a small but fine selection of finished ceramics made by us, such as bowls, cups, vases, lamps and plates in various sizes & colors.
Come by and discover everything you need for your pottery adventure!
