Intensive Pottery Wheel Course – Spin, Trim & Glaze Hietzing (12+) *Three-part pottery course for beginners
From: € 175,00
* incl. VAT
The “Spin, Trim & Glaze” course offers great insight into the art of pottery and guides you step by step through the entire process, so that in the end, you’ll hold your own handcrafted, unique ceramic pieces in your hands.
Day 1 – Throwing: On the first day, you’ll get familiar with working on the pottery wheel. Under the guidance of your instructor, you will create three pieces and start by practicing centering and shaping a cylinder. From there, you can form either a coffee mug and a vase or a small pitcher. If time allows, you’ll also have the chance to throw a bowl.
Day 2 – Trimming: Now it’s time to refine your pieces, which will be in their leather-hard state. You’ll learn how precise trimming helps to enhance the shape and add details such as a well-defined foot. You will also have the opportunity to attach hand-pulled handles to your pieces.
Day 3 – Glazing: After the first firing at 960°C, you will receive your pieces back and can customise them to your taste with high-quality glazes. If you can’t attend this session, you have the option to complete the glazing at a later date—just reach out to your instructor for details.
In all our courses, we use only stoneware clay to ensure that your pieces are durable, functional, and made to last a long and happy life 🙂
