This course is designed for advanced potters who want to improve their technique to reach new heights. It is an advanced course for Open Studio members as well as graduates of the 5-week, 9-week, and three-day courses.

Welcome to my ceramics course! My name is Johanna, and I’ve been working with ceramics for over 11 years. I’m thrilled to invite you to my advanced course, where we’ll work together to improve your skills and discover new techniques. In this course, we’ll be looking at some of the common challenges people face when turning and going over them in detail. We’ll look at ways to avoid these mistakes by improving our posture or using specific techniques. We’ll also work together to turn larger and more complex vessels—with more clay, more height, and more possibilities! I took a course at the well-known Tortus and gained valuable techniques and insights there that I’d like to share with you. I look forward to welcoming you to my course and reaching new creative heights together!

Course Program:

Day 1: Technique Check – We determine your current level and correct fundamental technique errors.

Day 2: Throwing Forms: We practice pulling up forms with different amounts of clay (pitchers and bowls).

Day 3: Free Production: Create according to your own preferences. Additional clay can be purchased for larger projects.

Day 4: Trimming and Assembling.

Day 5: Glazing with Wax Resist.

+When?
Five Thursdays in a row from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m.

+ Can I reschedule an appointment?
The course takes place on the same day, at the same time, for 5 consecutive weeks.
If you are unable to make it to an appointment, unfortunately we cannot offer make-up lessons. However, you can use our open studio for free for the time you missed and practice on your own. We are, of course, nearby if you have any questions. 🙂
