Kitchen Ceramics (14+) (Only in Nеubau) *Three-part modeling course

In this class you will make your own designed serving set to serve your favorite snacks and appetizers. You will go through all the steps from clay modeling to glazing and at the end you will hold your own serving set in your hands. When modeling, there are no limits to the shapes you can create. Round, square or organic-anything is possible.

During the first, three-hour session, you will use the plate technique to shape plates and the thumb-shell technique to shape matching bowls or cups. If you want to make the surface more interesting, you can press a pattern into the clay with different grasses, flowers and leaves, for example. For this purpose, you are welcome to bring your own things.

A week later, the raw-fired pieces can be glazed with professional glazes according to taste. The high quality materials allow a firing temperature  which makes the pieces suitable for dishwasher and microwave.

+ What you do
In this unit you will learn to make your own plates (approx. 30-32cm diameter) and cups or mugs / bowls. The sets will be three to a maximum of six pieces depending on the size.

Course duration: 3 hrs. molding, 2-3 hrs. glazing (total approx. 5-6 hours). Suitable for beginners (for all from 14).

1st day – Forming- 3 hrs.

Between these days your works will be dried and fired in the kiln at 960C°.

2nd day one week later – Glazing – 3 hrs.

After this day your works will be high fired in the kiln at 1220C°.
(!) Glazing could be postponed to next week.

This class is ideal for ALL ceramic beginners 14+ (no experience necessary!). Kids with parents – from 7 years old.
